Printed media

With the arrival of large format digital printing in the early ‘noughties’ the print industry was revolutionised and full colour printing became much more affordable. Prior to this, each colour output required separate plates, CMYK, where the inks were laid on the paper one at a time, plus drying time, and of course each plate needed to me meticulously prepared and positioned to avoid blurring, which made for an extremely laborious process.

I was working ‘in-house’  as a designer for a local printers at this time, so as well as having a full understanding of design and pre-press set up, I had the opportunity to learn every aspect of the print industry, from traditional plate making and pantone inks, as well as short run digital outputs, and the way colours work on different materials and textures.

So whether you are looking for something simple posters or flyers, or a more complicated end product for packaging, or photo books or glossy brochures, die-cut shapes, pearlescent or metallic finishes, I have the experience to prepare the artwork you need to suit the product that you require.
